Reference Books
Journals, Magazines and Newspapers
Special Collections such as Rare Books, Lininger Children's Literature, College Archives, Cushman Collection and the Collection of Writings by Virginia Women

Library Notices

Courtesy notices are sent three days prior to the item coming due. If the item(s) are not returned or renewed by the due date, an overdue notice will follow. Borrowers must take note of the due dates for all items checked out and renew or return them on time.

Patrons are responsible for all library materials checked out with their card. Overdue and recall notices are either e-mailed or mailed to the address provided to the library. The library is not responsible for any unread e-mail or undeliverable mail.

Overdue Fines

Patrons who fail to return videos (DVD or VHS) on time are fined $1 for every day late. There are no charges for late return of other types of resources.

Lost or Damaged Materials

Patrons are fully responsible for all library materials charged out to them. In the event that an item is lost or damaged (see exception below), the library will charge the cost of the item plus a $30.00 processing fee per item.

If a computer laptop is lost or damaged, the library will charge a $1,500 fine.

Student records are placed on "stop" (unable to register for classes or room draw, send transcripts or receive diploma) if they have owe Lipscomb Library $10 or more.

Confidentiality of Library Patron Files

Lipscomb Library is committed to the protection of the right of privacy of all library patrons (Code of Virginia, Virginia Freedom of Information Act, 2.2-3705.7).

The identity of the borrower or requestor of a library item and the information contained in individual circulation system patron records are confidential.
