Open access (OA) has several different meanings.
1. Information that is freely available to use and share, usually born digital (short video: What are Open Educational Resources?)
2. A movement to democratize knowledge and scholarship by removing cost barriers to information
Open access resources are those where the creator has used Creative Commons or another license that allows anyone to freely access their work. Different forms may include textbooks, articles, journals, photos, music, videos, and others. Use this guide to learn more about the open access movement and to find open access resources for your own use.
